Yard Bug Mower

Posted on July 7, 2010.
Yard Bug MowerI man yard bug riding mower. I want to know what kind of oil should I put in the transmission?

It is a single speed transmission-LH I will not go into neutral. It seems dry.

Usually BAT uses two types of transmissions - a single speed greasable not (on large garden tractors type) and the type you can add / change the oil. Im assuming theres no cracks in the housing to release the oil, or simply fled over the years. Normally, you can use a 90 weight gear oil, I use my 90 Lucas weight / gear fluid transport availible in any auto parts store. Its really great stuff, I use in my tractor running and havent had any problems (it rotates faster than its actions and still together nearly two years later). Id check it at least once a year for the level and change it every couple years to be sure.

Go to this site: http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/publi ...

Enter your information and you should be able to find what you need.

Good luck.
