Wedding AttireWedding dress?

I'm going to a wedding on July 5. It has been a long time since I went to a wedding and I am a bit of touch when it comes to the DOS and Don'ts of wedding suits. The ceremony is at 4:30 and I was informed that this is an official event. Suggestions please?

Do not wear white or black / navy blue / dark brown. Nothing too sexy or trashy. Avoid costumes or something that looks like you come to work.

A dress or knee length skirt would be better. Wear it with sandals or heels. You could make a sweater or light jacket in case you get cold at night. Big floral prints are nice and you would not have to worry about matching the bridesmaids. If you prefer pants, wear light-colored dress. Go light on the jewelry and makeup.

I'm really not sure

A dress you'd probably wear to church.

Figure first if its inside or outside. something outerwear because it's summer over in July as a summer dress very nice and if the fire inside a bit more formal. I would wear a nice dress or otherwise not seek to go, but not like you're supposed to walk down the aisle

NEVER wear white to someones wedding. Wear something smart and pretty, but not too flashy and look at me "maybe a pastel dress or sundress.

Black is pretty much over for a white wedding and I think it would be a bit strange too. But whatever you're comfortable with really. I would say nothing too revealing, and perhaps simplest, classic clothing. Do not go overboard with ruffles or prints or whatever you want to look back in five years and be embarrassed, cos there will be photographic evidence!
