Get her a certificate to your local professional studio photographer. Any mother who has just had a baby would have pictures to give to family and friends. She will appreciate the thoughtful gift and have these pictures forever! Unique, practical and thoughtful. If it's too expensive just to pay the costs of sitting on the portriats or go with another friend or family member. hand hats and slippers are always special. If you know someone who can do something custom you could give a gift certificate for mom and hat and a sweater for the baby is special. I had a baby blanket done with my daughter's name and date of birth, it was very sweet:)
