Termite Inspection

We hired a termite inspector to inspect a house that we buy. The inspection revealed no termites in or on the structure (a brick house with four sides), but the inspector noted that there are visible signs of carpenter ants. Carpenter ants are not as bad as termites, but we would like to know how carpenter ants are destructive. Should we consider terminating the contract of sale because of the carpenter ants?

How serious is the damage? Most homes get some type of infestation of wood destroying organisms. Unless the damage is really bad. At least you know where the damage is and what is not a surprise. Good Luck Patrick
