Names of plants and flowers for a wedding anniversary Ruby? There must be some plants with "ruby" in the name, do you know of anything that would make a great birthday the 40th? I found a pink line on Bush but just thinkg other options and have no idea about plants in general. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
The Rose, Ruby, perhaps what you found, and large flowers.
Otherwise, there are some plants that also have Ruby in their name but they are garden plants more flowers, if you thought of giving a bouquet
Lovely plants include Magnolia 'Ruby' - you can see, and some info here ... http://www.burncoose.co.uk/site/plants.c , a beautiful Heather - http://www.shootgardening . co. uk / plants / uh ... Erica carnea 'Myretoun Ruby, a reddened foliage Gleditsia - Gleditsia triacanthos' Rubylace, http://www.burncoose.co.uk/site/plants.c ... and a beautiful Camellia "Aarons Ruby, see here - http://www.hortic.com/ics/product/11383/ ...
Ruby wedding anniversary is so special, and good sustainable plant would be an excellent way to celebrate.
Of all these, the roses are generally liked by everyone, need an annual prune to keep them, are not too demanding, it would be a good choice. Otherwise, camellias great late winter flowering plants that need a humid, good, with acid soils, but can be supplemented by an acid stream if the acidic soil. I love them, and they are also no problem.
The Magnolia will grow to a tall shrub, is beautiful in the spring, and requires no real care. Take a look at each plant and see what you feel is special and can be adapted to their circumstances and comfort level of effort and, perhaps, their knowledge of gardening.
Hope this helps. Good luck! Fly
there is one called rubylittle is a calla lily, but the color is dark pink or lavender. There are calla lilies red as http://www.flowerexplosion.com/by-flower ... which is a ruby color. I think calla lilies will look great as a gift because they are not as common as the roses (they are a good idea too).
