Rose Garden Palace

My friends and I recently visited the rose garden at Hampton Court Palace, England. Many, but not all, names rose variety started with "AUS". I think this must be an abbreviation, and I guess it is for a company that records the names of plants ... but I'm just guessing. Can anyone please tell me more about "AUS"?

I think it may be an abbreviation of David Austin Roses? David Austin Roses are world famous and are the most beautiful and fragrant I've ever seen.
