Party gifts? ok so im having the dedication ceremony of my daughter, "baptism" my grandmother told me to tell poeple they shouldent bring a gift because most poeple who I am already inviting me giveing gifts for the baby shower and birth. Please give me your comments.
When our family baptisms and we have a small reception, our parents usually give the child a cross to their room, maybe earrings cross, a religious medallion, a baby blanket with a cross, a plate guardian angel or something of the nature.
The baby shower is another type of celebration.
It is only polite to bring something to baptism, but you should not mention anything about gifts in the invitation. I leave to the individual that some people may not be able to afford another gift.
They can, if they really want, but say it is not necessary. Although you'd probably enjoy it a lot.
