Log Cabin Construction

I'm looking to build a neighborhood stepmother in my back yard, but thought it might be good to do something unique. I'm in PHX, and energy efficiency is important for me though. How to log cabin wall compares typical construction as regards retaining heat and cold? All the resources or education you can give are appreciated. Thank you

From a fan perspective: the log walls are equally effective energy (if not more, with an appropriate sealer) fiber glass filled walls.
