How do you find salvaged materials for the renovations of a house? Saying cabinets.plumbing timbers? I'm home renovation. I read more lake in many books and magazines that recovery sites are a great source of all kinds of materials.
How can I find a salvage yard in my area ..
I find the doors of 100 years old wood .. glass door knobs, etc..
Try Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. The one in our town has some great material recovered. In addition, the yellow pages under "Salvage" or "Building Materials - Used" may well find a treasure to one of these places.
Have fun - it's my kind of "hunting!
I agree with the answer above. I enjoy going to these places. I found some in Memphis, including housing.
In a number of cities, entrepreneurs and others donate these materials to groups of green for reuse at a fraction of the price. Beware though, you'll probably have to make minor repairs and finishing. Things seems to hold an immediate value are often given. You can contact your county extension agency and ask if there are such companies in your area.
