Guts and different types of
pipe couplings, or also known as hose adapters are used to attach one end of a pipe to another pipe, valve, or other types of devices such as a sprinkler pipe. Although simple as it may seem, these fittings or adapters may vary between its uses and purposes.

There are different types of pipe fittings used in many different functions. Some may be as simple as pipe fittings for garden hoses, while others may be used for heavier duty, such as fittings for fire hoses or other types of high pressure hoses .

Examples of pipe fittings used for different purposes:

Hoselink and Hozelock
These types of pipe are some of the most popular and used connections on the market. Hoselinks are a type of bayonet coupling using 0 compression ring to ensure a watertight connection, while the Hozelock connector is a push-fit. Both are normally used for home and commercial garden hose.

ring expansion
These types of pipe fittings are mainly used for more sophisticated compared to hoselinks and Hozelock. This is commonly used is a push-fit connector. It also has the advantage of providing unrestricted flow, as the expansion ring is developing normally according to the internal diameter of the pipe. These types of hose adapters can be installed with special machines using an extender pole.

Holedall
These types of hose adapters in three different types, the mulconroy, IX, and Scovill or Rostra.

• Mulconroy: Also known Holedall crimp are normally used on large diameter pipes which are best known for its high-pressure applications or where the pipe is exposed to high-range attraction, as the oil suction and discharge. Similar to cycles of expansion, it is mostly installed using a special machine.
• IX: Or also known as Holedall IX, specialized pipe fittings are used primarily for high pressure applications, which is also similar to mulconroy.
