Hose Elbow

Posted on May 3, 2010.
Hose ElbowIs there a better way to attach a tin or bend the pipe to an outlet of the dryer at a metal / plastic clamp or tape?

The output of the dryer is only ~ 1 / 2 "long enough to get a snug fit between the elbow 4 Tin or pipe when using a clamp. The collar is not designed to clamp at any angle relative to the pipe, and any extension easily falls off. Duct tape does not work as it becomes wet and loses its sticking. I tried a plastic extension in the past, but found the adhesive ring having the same problem, because the extension can not "hang" with 1 / 2 "available on the dryer outlet. I'd rather not use superglue ... please help.

Do not know

had this problem in the past to obtain 1 / 4 inch self tapping screws and 1 / 4 slices and use a cordless drill to screw the hose into the socket about three screws should do it, they can easily pass through the pipe dryer hose and tube and should keep close good luck not much room if the screws should go to the corner ...

Sucks, huh? I understand they want to reduce the space in the back, but it makes it difficult to get a perfect seal.

I just installed a new dryer yesterday and found the only way to do it properly is to remove the service covered by the back of the dryer, pull the piece of duct of the blower and tape the elbow flange and re-install the conduit in the dryer. On my model (Frigidaire), the inner pipe is sealed with a rubber seal bit, but it is screwed into the back of the camera, so it does not move.

Good luck!

Do not use screws. Lint will be taken on the screws, plug in your vent, interfere with the drying of clothes, and be a fire hazard.

Use pliers.
