Can you tell me how to install an electric fence for pets? Is it difficult? We were looking in the electric fence to contain our two large breed dogs. I can not find the installation instructions on the web.
Hello. we have an electric radio fence. These are units that transmit a radio signal to a collar on your dog. they cost about $ 300. our cover an area of half acre, but you can change the diameter of the zone to make it smaller. these units do not require a son to dig underground and are portable. (Great job for camping), they are also very effective for our cross vast laboratory, which has always been out of the fence that we had. They are very simple to setup and basic training described in the package in the box. it took two days to train our dogs to the limit. easy. I had a fence undergroud before that and found it a hassle and if you buy the expensive ($ 1500 +) models they do not work very reliable
Dogs must be trained with electric fencing as well. Most companies install and show you how to train.
There should be located on the box. It is a matter of digging a small trench around the vicinity and placing the wiring underground. (I do not know to what extent the basement). There are warning flags that you post a few feet inside the wire around the dogs alert to what extent they should go.
Is the extent of my knowledge. Talk to manufacturing. Stop your pet check to see how he does it, and shoot them an email if their instructions are not clear.
Good Luck
instructions should be on the box
As others have said, the instructions should be on the box (if you're self-installation) or installers should provide you with advice. However, please keep in mind that with electric fences, dogs with a high prey drive may cross the border, ignoring the shock they receive - they are reluctant to return to your property because they are aware they will be shocked again when they return. In addition, electric fences will not keep stray animals off your property. Just a little food for thought! Good luck!
