Do it yourself sprinkler repair? Yes, you can do.
Dig the old and turn it on. Bring with you to the hardware store (eg Lowes) to search for a replacement of the same brand.
With spare parts that you could take a paperback book $ 10 on maintenance and repair of sprinklers. Value for money. Good luck.
It is not difficult, just time consuming. Most of the parts that break are the ones who are nuts (connectors) or those who move (trees in the head), which also come out. You just have to dig, turn over the affected area to determine where the leak is, remove the affected parts, buy new (take the old stuff with you at the store), and reinstall. After a time you'll have no problem repairing any other problems you might encounter.
llocate the source of the leak and then determine the type of the broken piece, ie a line, a sprinkler head or an elbow or fitting. Bring it to a local supplier and replaced. Next year, remember to disable it for the winter and that the lines are blown.
