Discount FencingAre you thinking about getting a fence for your home?

We've all heard horror stories about contractors who are not what they say. Here, we have launched another project to do around the house - installing a fence. For some reason you have for the new fence, questions are emerging.

Where to start?

The first thing is to know what types of fences are allowed in your area. If you live in an area that is governed by an HOA, there may be some restrictions. Check with your local association for the different types of fencing, including height, spacing and colors that are acceptable. A district may allow decorative aluminum , while another may say that the wood and the link of the chain is correct. Regarding wood fencing, the main styles are privacy, picket, and smooth. Some or all may be authorized.

Then you can check with your local laws. Specifically, if you have a pool you need to get over. State, county, and local authorities may have laws unique.

It is important that you understand all these factors before your fence is installed. It will cost a tidy sum at the closing took and then reinstalled.

Once you have an understanding of what is allowed in your area, you now have to decide if you (or your husband) feel at hand or prefer a fence company to install it for you.

There are so many companies closing down there. Check with the Better Business Bureau in your area. Ask family, friends and colleagues for many companies. They have had a good - or bad - experience with a company. This is the best way to see how a business works and what you can expect.

Contact the company. Talk to them. Find out if they have all necessary insurance and permits that are required to operate like a business. Ask for references. If they have nothing to hide, they will be happy to provide this information. Buyer Beware - DIY companies are not closing! If you are smart to put any Joe Smo in your guide, and you might get what you pay for. Prices may become cheaper, and after all is said and done, you might just understand why.

You must be comfortable with the company you are going to do business with. Trust your instincts. Price should be a factor, but most Compains should be in line with one another to some extent. Be Leary of small guys. Ask questions about your prize. You might be surprised. Call the company and see if they can move their money at all. Maybe they can and maybe they can not, but it never hurts to try.

Some companies offer special discounts. Check with them and see what they offer. Times are tough right now for everyone.

Fences of all types can get sucked into a landscape improvements. As they say, "fences make good neighbors."
