Civil Partnership? Civil Partnership?
Me and my partner of 10 years will soon enter into a civil society and move in together and I was wondering what effect if any this might have on the benefits I receive for my mental health problems. I am currently claiming IB (incapacity benefit) and DLA) (disability living allowance).
If I woud bulk, these benefits would I still be able to claim sickness benefit instead, as I would if I was single. I mean if I was employed, either full time or part time and have not paid sick pay would I still be able to apply what I'm on the long-term illness and inability to work at all.
Thank you for your time and your help.
Your best bet would be to pop and your local employment center / office services to find for sure.
Good luck to you and your partner.
Hello there if you ask disability benefits based on contribution he won being assigned as tested does not mean your usual dla be affected either way but there are regulations on housing benefits to consider with your local cab to organize a benefit check and good luck
My advice would be to make an appointment at your local Citizens Advice OFFICERS, or Job / Office beneficial and im sure they will help.
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!
Not sure about IB but DLA is not affected. DLA is rejected in the calculation of benefits or discounts.
There will be a welfare officer at your local shelter, often more enjoyable than benefits to the agency!
As loopylyns say it is best to seek advice from your local CAB, benefits are a minefield these days and what might be applied today can be changed next week, also the fees / criteria etc. can vary from one county to the .. re the little sick pay, many DONT employers pay sickness benefits and employees are not entitled to sick pay statuary (not much), you can find if you really want to work, trying to work or volunteer Earnings theraputic where you can earn £ 20.00 per week without saying, most employment centers are departments of the employment of disabled where they will advise you on the road to take. Good luck
