Cattle Fencing

Posted on July 21, 2010.
Cattle FencingWhat livestock fencing laws of Illinois? Who is responsible for setting the fence if the cattle out there?

Who owns the fence? it was poorly maintained or fail to break the cattle fence well maintained? The law is not as simple as you claim.

If you want to read the law of Illinois closing, you can link here:

http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilc ...

practice universally understood where I live - the owner of cows that are out is responsible for setting the fence.

If crops are damaged, and the owner of livestock is too slow to fix, the owner can fix the fence and invaded to recover repair costs and damage to crops from the livestock owner.

it usually causes major rifts between the neighbors have to go to court to recover these costs. used as a last resort.

I do not know exactly the law of Illinois. I think the owner of the property and / or owner of livestock if they are one and the same thing. I would at least start with the owner first. And definitely check out with someone who knows about it.
