General Motors Corp. Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced June 5 that Erroll B. Davis, Jr. and Kathryn V. Marinello must become new GM directors and that the current board members were also reelected. Accordingly, it would be 13 board members in which 12 of them are independent, outside directors.

Davis studied at Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Chancellor of the University System of Georgia, he was chairman and CEO of Alliant Energy Corporation. At Xerox Corporation and Ford Motor Company, he has also held positions in corporate finance. He also serves boards of directors of BP plc, PPG Industries, Inc. and Union Pacific Corporation. He also serves on the boards of the University of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon. In addition, he was elected to the board of directors of U.S. Olympic Committee in 2004 and chairs the audit committee.

On the other hand, Marinello holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal State University of New York at Albany. She completed her MBA from Hofstra University. Marinello is president and CEO of Ceridian Corporation. Before, she was president and CEO of GE Capital Business Services Consumer Financial and has held the same positions in GE Fleet Services. His positions at First Data Corporation, U.S. Bank Card Services, Chemical Bank, Citibank and Barclays prove his extensive experience in financial services, marketing and operations. A member of the Business Roundtable, it is service to the Board of Directors of the Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Minnesota Business Partnership.

Wagoner said they were delighted to have Davis in the Marinello board manufacturer's Detroit auto. He expressed optimism that the two forces would bring added valuable information about their experiences of trade.

George Fisher, presiding director and chairman of the Board of Directors and Corporate Governance reported that their company is eager to work with two new directors on key issues that hinder the company to achieve steady growth.
