Building A Fire Pit

Building A Fire PitSafety Code for the construction of a home?

I live in Maryland and I was wondering if anyone knows what the security code is the construction of a permanent home in my backyard. I have two lots. One side of me is completely open (no trees or shrubs). Do I need a kind of license? I live in a rural area and few have seen several of my neighbors with lights.

To my knowledge there is no code on the home. There are, however, restrictions in many areas. Check with your local code enforcement to make sure there are no restrictions. Even if you land without trees or shrubs you are still responsible if sparks or flames of your campfire damage someone else's property. If you have a homeowners association, they may also have covenants.
