Brinkman Electric SmokerBrinkman Electric Smokers Wood info please?!?

I just received a large part of the Brinkman smoker electric red. I need to know the time at which this small thing will do I need pre-soaking the pieces of wood before jumping in the smoker or not the pieces dry just hatching? I want to try for the first time in the mornning. Thank you!

Cook to 225 chips have a tendency not to soak flair, try to cook a pork roast, like a Boston butt with friction. Make sure to use hardwood chips and realize its agreement throughout the day, wrap the meat in foil after a few hours of smoke. Do not see it, but to control the temperature.

yes, you should soak your chips or pieces, I prefer to do mine overnight, but they say 30 minutes or so
