What is the best option for privacy backyard? We just moved into a new house and a dilemma about the neighbors directly behind us. The area is very nice, but our neighbors all their junk all over their yard. It's really starting to bother me. My husband would put up trees, but I'm not sure how fast they will grow to cover the neighbor's yard. I would like a privacy fence, but I do not know how it would be costly. Any opinions on whether a fence and trees would be better?
We had the same problem with my parents' house. My father has developed a large courtyard. We have a patio with a trellis on the left side of "shield" us from these neighbors, but we also have trees and shrubs strategically placed throughout the backyard.
I'm not a fan of fencing, because they seem to make your garden feel smaller, so I'm a little biased when I recommend that you use trees. First, trees should not be very expensive. Then, I personally think that trees add a touch to the landscape a very backyard. Finally, good for the environment, right?
I just want to give my opinion, so here, if a great article on eHow different options privacy backyard. Good luck!

You do not have to go with a privacy fence, if you want, you can do yourself. First post, and attach the fence to the post. The local store did you get ready to bring closure. Its really easy. plant or shrub, which can be more expensive.
Trees look better, but a fence would be much faster. Will you wait years for the trees?
If it were me I would go with the fence, they arent that hard to implement and you can make as high as Wnt you to and you do not have to wait on the trees grow, you can also plant trees and when they big as you want, you can remove the fence if you wish, but I would if I was just put up the fence and enclose my backyard
There are so many options. I have chain link. Along one side, we added the wire to the top of the chain-link raising it to about 5 1/2-6 feet high. Honeysuckle was completely covered and it smells very sweet especially the morning. On the face Cannas I plant about 16 cm from the fence and out and they grow as tall as 12 feet and resembles a tropical garden. Hummingbirds do a day of food back and forth along the fence when they are in bloom. They fail to 6 feet until perhaps July or mid July and last at least through October where I live. On another guide, we have planted shrubs and trees.
I would opt for more trees, but airlines are an annoyance to us regarding the trees.
